Django Web Framework a Favorite With Developers

Django is a web framework written in Python programming language that enables the rapid development of complex applications. It was developed by programmers who worked for the Lawrence Journal-World Online to overcome common programming challenges in web development which are the need to meet demanding deadlines with a minimum amount of repetitive code. The Django code became a community project when it was released under an open source BSD license and is now used to power thousands of sites, including The Washington Post.

Django was named after virtuoso jazz guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt. The French Gypsy musician invented a new jazz guitar technique, often called "hot" jazz guitar, that was distinguished by his dazzling improvisations that he brilliantly performed despite an injury that left two of his left hand fingers paralyzed. This wonderful example of elegantly doing more with less makes the Django web framework a fitting namesake to this great artist.

Grails

With repetitive work done by the Django framework, simple execution with less code allows the programmer to put up a functioning website easily and quickly. A few lines of code are all that are needed to create a wide range of applications, such as a gallery, blog, or content management system for a website. It is not a content management system itself, but rather a tool used to build a CMS that the Django developers describe as a model, template, and view framework, or MTV. Its structured system templates, extensive documentation, and overall simplicity make the Django framework a favorite among web developers.
